About

The perfect accessory for anyone that loves “handmade”, lovelane fuses vintage design and edgy functionality. From linens to pillows to larger custom pieces, her work will brighten any home with a unique blend of kitschy themes, classic patterns, and polished craftsmanship.

Owner and designer Lane Huerta ventured into screen-printing while mentoring with a graphic designer and poster artist in San Francisco. “I loved watching how the layers of colors create an image,” she says “So I ran out and bought a small start up kit. Eventually I taught myself. I’m still learning every day.” She combined her love of sewing and appliqué with this new found technique and her passion for her trade grew.

After moving to Savannah in 2006 with her husband, Patrick, she has been able to spend more time honing her skills and reconnecting with her southern roots. A little country, a little rock n’ roll, her work blends refined style with purpose. Her inspiration is found in the quirkiness of everyday life in Savannah. “I will visit my friend that has chickens and the next week I will find myself creating a tea towel with chickens….I love how the creative process begins.”

lovelane is committed to sustainability and “upcycling” by creating tea towels, totes and reusable produce bags, as well as full line of luxury home goods made with eco-friendly, water-based inks and dyes on organic and regional materials. She also prints on vintage fabrics finds from flea markets around the world. “It is wonderful to find an old grain sack or vintage piece of cloth while traveling and to use it in one of my printed pieces. It creates a one-of-a-kind piece with a history.”

She has worked with wedding professionals and event planners to create custom gifts for the most discerning bride or host. Her showroom and studio, Swamp Kitty, is located in the Starland District.
