Beginner Sewing Group: 5th -8th Grades Bi-Monthly Classes

At The Rainbow House Studio we foster a love for sewing by encouraging all sewers to be creative. We love teaching classes that start with the basics and add techniques set by the pace of the student. We can make the class more about garment construction, quilting, crafts or home decor. This class meets 2 times a month for 2 hours each session. They will not always complete a project in one class session.
In our hands-on sewing lessons, kids will learn to sew, create, and imagine — all while developing essential skills like patience, focus, and problem-solving.
To reserve your child's spot in a class, the full payment is required. Seats are secured on a first-come, first-served basis. This fee reserves your child's spot in our bi-monthly sewing class. If you want your child to take all three sessions, it would be best to sign them as early as possible. Small class sizes for personalized attention
Fees:
This payment reserves the student's seat in class and includes all supplies they may need. It is due at the beginning of each month.
The $155 fee is nonrefundable. There are no makeups or credits for missed classes.
Please contact us if you'd like to start mid-session. We can pro-rate.
Materials
Fabric, and patterns are provided for the children and are included in the cost. If they have their own fabric scissors they may bring them, but they must be approved by the instructor as actual fabric only scissors. Any basic sewing supplies (i.e. pincushion, pins, etc.), but they will be responsible for them. If they lose their supplies, they will not be replaced.
Skills
Students will set up their own machines during class; this will ensure that they understand how to thread a machine. Once children are over the age of nine, they are allowed to iron in class; if you do not want your child ironing please be sure to let the teacher know. They will also be cutting out their own projects with fabric scissors; if you do not want your child using scissors please be sure to let the teacher know.
Machines
If you wish for your child to bring their own machine you must complete the machine questionnaire within the Registration Form sent out after purchase. Your child must be proficient in that machine; our Machine Sewing Basics Workshop is designed to teach your child their own machine. There is no discount for using your own machine.
Prerequisites
Children must have taken either our Kid's Machine Basics Workshop or have the permission of the instructor.
